~fall~harvest~

~During September and October I was inspired by the tiny oak and maple leaves that were the first few to fall in my backyard. Amara and I were swinging in our hammock when I spotted one and decided to make a template to cut out of leather.
~My friend, Amy, and her family came to visit. Her beautiful designs (available at the link to the right, Daughter of the Sun) gave me the idea to use some of the thousands of beads I'm storing like a pack rat. I made the necklace above and a couple pairs of earrings...
~Amara is modeling some *Winter Woolies* I made to sell on etsy. I received a spark of genius last winter when she was 6+ months old to make warm pants out of an old sweater. I wasn't exactly sure what I was doing initially, but voila, they magically manifested. They are upcycled from wool-blend sweaters from thrift stores. Sure to keep that baby booty warm. We love them.

August is usually my least favorite month. I'm a December baby and I love cold weather. However, this year I experienced a creative surge during the height of heat. I asked for help from the Great Creative Spirit. Using me as a conduit, I felt excited, inspired, and abundant with ideas. Maybe the creative fire sign Leo was giving me a push or maybe I was ready to do something after the crazy July Kansas heat wave. I ended up making a whole line of jewelry out of leather...

Here's a picture from my last show at the Honeytree Gallery in Kansas City, Mo. I had the good fortune to set up for September First Friday...http://honeytreegallery.com/
